The Chester Academy PTA is always looking for fun ways to share time with family and the community.  
 

*All PTA Events are Free.  However, Non- members of the PTA are suggested to bring a $2 donation per person to help support our events.*

AUGUST


Back to School BBQ

Thursday, August 30th 4:00pm-6:00pm at Chester Academy

All grade levels come and meet your teachers, see friends, and enjoy some food.  School related organizations will be there too (Booster Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc).

Wednesday, August 29th at Chester Academy- Time: 9:30-10:30am



A chance to meet some new buckaroo's before school starts.  Meet at the playground and share some munchins and go-gurts.  


Will you Boo Hoo or Yahoo?! Breakfast

Thursday, August 30th 8:30-9:30 am at Chester Academy

Celebrate the start to a new school year with a special time of fellowship.  Coffee, juice and breakfast goodies will be served.  Tears and cheers will be shared by all. 

*New* Fall Fundraiser - Calendar Raffle

This fundraiser not only helps the PTA but it also helps the 6th Graders.  6th Grade participants will have an opportunity to earn money to reduce the cost of their science camp.  90% of proceeds goes back to the PTA.  Prizes will be awarded to those that qualify.  A winner will be drawn daily for the month of November.  Check the PTA website, Facebook Page, or PTA Bulletin Board for Winners!

 *New* Fall Fundraiser - Be The Hero 5k & 1/2 mile fun run

Not only is a fun family event and promotes health, but also a chance to help the PTA with funds to support field trips, teacher supplies, assemblies, keep PTA events FREE, and more!  90% of proceeds goes to the PTA.

Halloween Party
Friday, October 26th 6:00-8:00pm at MPR

A community event for children up to 4th grade.   Join us in your costumes to play games and win prizes.  Make a craft and go home with treats.  5th Grade students help out at the event.  Fun for all.  Help is always needed the day prior to decorate and put goodie bags together as well as clean up at the end of the event.  Be on the look out for
volunteer opportunities.  

DECEMBER


Holiday Make -N- Take

Friday, December 7th 4:00-6:30pm at Chester Academy Cafe

Children will make holiday gifts for loved ones.  8th Graders assist kids in making their crafts.  Parents must be present.  Be on the look out for sign up sheets, pre-registration is necessary.  If you are crafty and would like to take charge of a craft, please contact us.

JANUARY


Bingo/Chili Cook Off

Friday, January 25th 6:00-8:00pm at Chester Academy Cafe

(Bingo theme TBD) - A family fun night of BINGO.  Come one come all and chance to win prizes!  Why stop there...there's MORE...we've added Chili Cook Off - Looking for special community chef's to put their chili to the test.   Prizes are announced around 8PM.  If you aren't cooking, it's a FREE event to join us for a chili dinner and bingo.  Bring you taste buds and vote for your favorite chili!

FEBRUARY


Mother/Son Dodgeball
Friday, February 1st 6:00pm-8:00pm at MPR

A Chester Academy tradition.  Mom's vs Son's!  Dress up in your colors and let the games begin!  Don't forget to bring $5 if you are interested in pictures!


MARCH


Bedtime in Chester

Thursday, March 14th 6:00-8:00pm at Chester Academy Library

All elementary kids are welcome to come in pjs, bring a blanket, pillow and a favorite stuff animal. A variety of stories will be read by teachers including Principal Lacroix. Parents must be present.


Read- a- thon Fundraiser
March 11th-22nd

Support Chester Academy PTA while encouraging your child to read. More details will be distributed out in March.


Trivia Night Fundraiser (adult only event)

Saturday, March 23rd 6:30pm -11:00pm at MPR
A fun filled night of competition.  There will be raffles and auction items to bid on.  Some items for live auction will be Police Ride to School, Fire Truck Ride to School, Preferred 8th Promotion Seating and more!  BYOB and BYOF (Bring your own Food)


MAY


Father/Daughter Dance
Friday, May 3rd 7:00-9:00pm at MPR

A special event for Daughters to be with their Fathers. Volunteers are always needed to help decorate and provide refreshments.  Be on the look out for volunteer opportunities.

JUNE


Field Day

Friday, June 7th All Day, Rain Date - Monday, June 10th at Chester Academy

A special FUN day filled with activities throughout the entire day on all the fields.  Event is open for ALL Grade Levels.  8th graders have the option to participate or volunteer.  Parent volunteers needed!  Field Day would not be a success without the help of donations and volunteers. Be on the look out for more information and volunteer opportunities as we approach June.





MPR is the Multiple Purpose Room at the Chester Town Offices - 84 Chester Street.

**Dates and times are subject to change.  If you are interested in chairing/co-chairing any event, please contact the Chester PTA.  Many of our senior PTA Members will be leaving us because their kids are growing up and aging out of Chester Academy.  This is a great opportunity to train with the best and overlap efforts.   


Additional Programs sponsored by the CA PTA

  • PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home.  Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2018/2019 theme:  The Hero Among Us.  Students may choose one or all of the available arts categories:  dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
