Local Health PSA

posted Sep 26, 2018, 12:26 PM by Karen Lacroix   [ updated Sep 26, 2018, 12:34 PM ]

State health officials say the first batches of mosquitoes in the state to test positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) this year have been identified in Newton and Sandown. West Nile Virus has been positive locally as well. It will take 2 good hard frosts to alleviate this end-of-season threat. Spraying is merely local, momentary, and provides only a false sense of security. Dress in long pants and long sleeves, use DEET repellent, be aware, and be careful!  Follow this link for more detail/instructions:
