Dear Fourth
Grade Families,
Welcome to
fourth grade! Fourth grade students may look forward to
an exciting and enriching year filled with many
opportunities for personal and educational growth.
Often viewed as a transitional year between the primary
grades and middle school, fourth grade is filled with
new challenges and opportunities as students are
encouraged to learn to express and develop individual
learning styles and independent work habits.
As stated in
the Chester School District mission statement, the
educational experience in fourth grade continues to
promote an atmosphere of learning that will nurture
students and assist them in achieving personal success
by acquiring the essential skills and qualities of a
life-long learner. Curriculum development as well as
teaching tools and techniques are continuously under
review and analysis. New Hampshire state goals as well
as national standards are incorporated into all areas of
instruction.
By paying
particular attention to current research, educational
findings, and reflective analysis of programs, we
further our commitment to providing our students with
the best possible education.
The fourth
grade teachers encourage you to take an active role in
your child’s education. We believe that strong
communication between home and school is a key element
to your child’s success. Please feel free to contact us
via voice mail, e-mail, daily planners or other forms of
written communication. We value your input and will
make every attempt to contact you in a timely manner.
Through open communication and cooperative effort of
home, school, and community, together we will promote
the best possible learning environment for your child.
We look
forward to getting to know you and your children during
the school year!
Sincerely,
The Fourth
