Social Studies - Mrs. Shriber
World Geography
Seventh-grade world geography seeks to build
upon the skills and knowledge developed in
sixth-grade world history. The Five Themes of
Geography – Place, Location, Region,
Human/Environment Interaction and Movement – are
the starting point for the year and serve as a
guiding outline for the year of study. Students
develop map skills and become knowledgeable of
the two major divisions of geography: human
geography and physical geography. Students may
engage in major projects, including paper mache
globes and creating your own island country.
Geographical regional studies include the United
States and Canada, Africa, Latin America,
Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
