Welcome to 6th Grade Classroom Guidance…

 

The New Hampshire Department of Education has specific guidelines for the guidance/health education programs at the middle school level.  Chester Academy will follow these guidelines and teach the required topics at age appropriate times throughout the middle school years.

 

Through group activities, videos, guest speakers, and class discussions, 6th grade students will study the following topics:

                        Self-Concept

                        Family & Peer Relationships

                        Bully Prevention

                        Conflict Resolution Skills

                        Nutrition & Exercise

                        Physical, Mental & Social Changes of Puberty

                        Project Alert Drug Prevention Program

                        Basic First Aid & Emergency Medical Care

                        KIDS & COMPANY Safety Program

                        Internet Safety

                        A nutritionist, C.A.’s Dir. Of Technology on internet safety, Sexual Assault

                        Support Services on bullying & all types of harassment, & NNE Poison

                       Center on the dangers of inhalants.
