7th Grade World Language students participate in art
projects that support the cultural aspects of Chester
Academy’s foreign language program:

French I: French Impressionism, figure and gesture
drawing, color theory with
Cezanne, pastels with Monet, watercolors in
Paris, Dada and Modern Art

Spanish I: Papel
Picado, Paper Marigolds and
Poinsettias, Molas, Piñatas,
Guatemalan Textiles, studies of Goya, El Greco,
Picasso
Grading for all middle level art classes is based on a
12-point class day.
Points are awarded as follows:
3 = Effort, attitude
3 = Knowledge of subject area
3 = Completion of day’s artwork
3 = Self-reliance, care and responsibility taken with
tools, materials
and art center
