Eligibility Considerations for Talent Pool Classes               

     1. Teacher Referral*

    All students will be referred by classroom teacher based on observed talent in Mathematics and/or Language Arts. In addition, students will be recommended based on creativity, task commitment and ability.

 

    2. Parent Request*

    Parents may speak with their student’s teacher if they feel their child should be considered for Talent Pool.

 

    REFERRAL TO TALENT POOL IS BASED ON OBSERVABLE TALENT IN THE CLASSROOM. STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO COMPLETE A MATH OR WRITING ASSESSMENT BEFORE ADMISSION.

   Can my child attend Talent Pool classes in both Mathematics and Language Arts?

   Yes, classes run for half a year in each subject area. Your child may be referred for both subject areas.

 

   When are classes held?

 Talent pool classes are held for forty-five minutes once a week in the enrichment room.  The Enrichment Specialist works in collaboration with the classroom teachers and wherever possible classes are scheduled at the same time that the subject is being taught in the regular classroom.
