Curriculum Facilitator- Role Description
Purpose:
To provide leadership, coordination and
innovation in a designated content area
or grade level team. Successful
attainment of this goal will be
characterized by increased communication
and collegiality among professional
staff and enhanced instructional
opportunities for students.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1)
Serves as a team leader for a designated
curriculum area or grade level team.
2)
Represents a designated curriculum area
or grade level team at monthly
curriculum council meetings.
3)
Assists with the planning and
development of relevant classroom
curricula and materials as appropriate
to program objectives and standards.
4)
Acts as a resource person to all
teachers by being up to date with
materials, new curriculum, new
strategies and successful practices.
5)
Assists in the planning and
development of curricular structure and
participates in the design, development,
and publication all educational support
materials.
6)
Participates in the planning and
delivery of curriculum training as
appropriate; may attend and/or
participate in related training programs
and/or workshops.
7)
Helps to maintain program databases and
records systems.
8)
Gives input on budget and ordering of
curriculum materials.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:

Certified teacher.

Strong interpersonal and
communication skills and the ability
to work effectively as a team
leader.

Understanding of specific content
and curriculum standards.

Demonstrated knowledge of a variety
of successful teaching practices.

Ability to coordinate and organize
meetings.

Ability to gather data, and analyze
information.

Comfortable with using computers and
related technology applications.
