8
School Improvement Goal #1
  • Develop a shared vision and understanding of grade level reading expectancies and effective literacy practices.
9

12
New Instructional Delivery Model
  • Based on the 3 Tier Instructional Model:
  • 90 minute reading block
  • New core reading program
  • Levelized instructional groupings
  • -   Benchmark testing & progress monitoring
  • Coordinated instructional support

  •    adjust instruction or groupings.
14
Next steps for Goal #2
  • More Attention to the Middle School

18
What is the data showing us?
19
Percentage of Students Scoring at Benchmark (grade level) on DIBELS
20
Next steps for Assessment

  • Establish a system to efficiently utilize new data reporting tool (Test Wiz)
  • Further disaggregate and analyze data to identify specific needs, trends, gaps
  • In the process of recording data in Math to track and communicate progress consistently

22
How does NECAP affect AYP?

23
Three Ways to Meet AYP
  • By meeting or exceeding the Target Index Value
    • 83.3 Reading
    • 77 Math
  • Fall within the Confidence Interval
    • 76.9 Reading
    • 69.5 Math
  • Meet Safe Harbor criterion
    • Reducing by 10% the number of students performing below the basic level

24
Performance Standard
  • Old Standard (NHEIAP)
    • Based on % of students scoring Basic or above

  • New Standard
    • Based on a Modified Index System
25
Modified Index System
  • Modified Index System provides partial credit for scores below Proficient.  A school’s index score will be the average of all student index points assigned to the school.
